On 12 November 2017 the exhibition Pieter de Josselin de Jong: A Forgotten Masteropens at Panorama Mesdag.

In Mesdag’s time, Pieter de Josselin de Jong (1861-1906) was an internationally celebrated artist and a popular figure in his profession, occupying a prominent position in the art world of The Hague. As a result of his premature death and successive waves of artistic renewal, De Josselin de Jong’s name soon slipped into obscurity.

Due toloans from Dutch museums and private lenders, it is now possible to present a broad and complete overview of the works of De Josselin De Jong, with a selection from his best paintings, pastels, watercolours and drawings.
